    Overview

    Senior Research & Development responsible for designing new products, next generation devices, line extensions or general product improvements and then leading a multidisciniplary team through the design control process to commercialization.

    Responsibilities

     

    Evaluates, analyzes, and makes recommendations on products, designs, and cost improvements to improve the competitive position of the company.

     

    Derives customer inputs for new products.

     

    Performs and/or supervises the design of new models and prototypes.

     

    Plans and develops test programs.

     

    Ensures that final designs meet customer inputs by managing multidisciplinary project teams through design control requirements and into initial market release. 

     

    Responsible for generating and maintaining project timeline.

     

    Performs technical analysis of competitive products.

     

    Provides support to sales and marketing on product presentations, training and general end-user support.

     

    Assessment of new project ideas including technical viability and potential return-on-investment.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.S. or B.E) from an accredited four-year college or university; minimum of 8 experience.

     

    Language Skills 

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical documents/drawings.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills 

    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Understanding of fluid flow dynamics a plus. 

     

    Reasoning Ability 

    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    Computer Skills 

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Computer Aided Design software; Development software; Statistical Analysis software; Internet software, Project Management software and Spreadsheet software.
